Title [sv]
Pantning i offentliga miljöer: Design, beteende och resurseffektivisering
Title [en]
Bottle refund in public environments: Design, behavior and resource efficiency
Abstract [sv]
Abstract [en]
The Swedish deposit system offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both ecological and social sustainability. The deposit rate is high in Sweden, but new regulations place higher demands on opportunities for deposit collection and reduced littering in public environments. A solution that Returpack has developed are so-called "deposit tubes" that are placed in the environments. Whether the tubes achieve these goals, how the design of the tubes and the spatial environment can be optimized, and whether there are better design solutions that can influence human behavior to a greater degree, is still unknown. In addition, donations are given for charitable purposes through the recycling machines in only about 5% of cases. In the present project, we will use design solutions to develop tools to increase the collection of recyclable products in public environments and increase donations for social sustainability. The project is a collaboration between the University of Gävle, Luleå University of Technology, Returpack/Pantamera, design companies and recycle machines producers.
