The reorganization's impact on the psychosocial work environment : A study of first line managers work situation and how it is affected during a reorganization (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study was to investigate how first line managers in municipal elderly care experienced their psychosocial work environment during an ongoing reorganization, both from an individual and organizational perspective. Our theoretical approaches have been the salutogenic perspective, as well as Karasek and Theorell’s control, support and demand model. We use a survey to measure the psychosocial workplace environment experienced by the first line managers in an ongoing reorganization. As a complement to the survey, four first line managers were interviewed with the support of SOC-13. Previous research showed that the psychosocial work environment had a significant role in reorganization and to facilitate the change, there was several factors to consider. The result of our study showed that the first line managers psychosocial work environment did not appear to be adversely affected by the rapid organizational change, the problem was already there.
