Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: I Sverige lever idag cirka 50 000 människor med diabetes typ 1. Diabetes typ 1 är en kronisk sjukdom och i de flesta fall upplever individen med diabetes typ 1 en rad förändringar gällande sin livsstil. Den nuvarande diabetesvården lyfter fram vikten av patientinvolvering och egenvård som är en viktig aspekt för individens behandling. Det är sjuksköterskans plikt att personen ska få en helhetsförståelse och kunskap om sitt hälsotillstånd samt informera vilken vård och behandling som behövs. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva personers upplevelser av att leva med diabetes typ 1 samt att granska undersökningsgrupperna i de inkluderade studierna. Metod: En beskrivande litteraturstudie som grundar sig på 10 stycken artiklar. Huvudresultat: Resultatet visade att personer upplever olika erfarenheter av att leva med diabetes typ 1. Bland annat uppstår känslor såsom oro och rädsla för komplikationer i vardagen, vilket även medför att känna trygghet av andras närhet. Patienten har själv ett ansvar gentemot sig själv och andra genom att bland annat informera om sin diabetes. För att känna en kontrollerad hantering av sin diabetes så krävs även en god planering i förväg. En annan viktig aspekt är att ha en god relation med sjukvården. Slutsats: Personer med diabetes typ 1 lyfter både positiva och negativa saker med att leva med diabetes typ 1. Huvudsakligen måste personen själv ta sitt eget ansvar över sin kroniska sjukdom. Med hjälp utav sjukvårdens stöd kan en professionell omvårdnad ges som är anpassad efter individens behov.

Abstract [en]

Background: Today, approximately 50,000 people with diabetes type 1 live in Sweden. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease, and in most cases, the individual with type 1 diabetes experiences a variety of transitions, including lifestyle changes. Current diabetes care highlights the importance of patient involvement and self-care which is an important aspect for the individual's treatment. It is the duty of the nurse to have a general understanding and knowledge of his / her condition as well as provide information on the care and treatment needed. Aim: The aim of this literature study was to describe patients’ experience of living with type 1 diabetes and to review the study groups in the included studies. Method: A descriptive literature study which is based on 10 articles. Main result: The result showed that people have different experiences of living with type 1 diabetes. Including feelings such as anxiety and fear of complications in everyday life, which also bring forth of feeling safe at others' closeness. The patient has a responsibility towards them self and others by, among other things, informing about their diabetes. In order to know a controlled treatment of their diabetes, good planning is also required in advance. Another important aspect is to have a good relationship with health care. Conclusion: People with type 1 diabetes experience both positive and negative lifestyle changes, but above all, the person himself has to take his own responsibility over his chronic disease. With the help of healthcare support, a professional care can be given that is tailored to the needs of the individual.
