Abstract [en]

We consider the parameter dependence of zeros of polynomials and particularly the properties of the ramication points of second-order (quadratic) polynomials. The results are applied to the analysis of real and complex zeros of a particular set of generalized cylindrical polynomials in order to study resonance scattering of electromagnetic waves by a circular dielectric cylinder.
