Sammanfattning

Bakgrund: Den omgivande miljön påverkar människors välbefinnande, att omges av natur ger fler positiva effekter. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva vårdmiljöns betydelse för patientens välbefinnande. Metod: En beskrivande litteraturstudie med deskriptiv design. Huvudresultat: Enkel- eller flerbäddsrum visade sig vara en viktig faktor vilket påverkade patienters välbefinnande. Vissa patienter föredrog enkelrum då det var mer avskilt och privat, andra patienter var positivt inställda till flerbäddsrum där interaktion med andra påverkade välbefinnandet positivt. Möjligheten att se natur och dagsljus genom rumsfönstret var viktigt för välbefinnandet vilket även observerades på patienters återhämtning. Slutsats: Miljön i vården spelar en viktig roll i omvårdnadsarbetet. Det som framkommit i denna studie är faktorer vilka har betydelse för patienter och det upplevda välbefinnandet. Som blivande sjuksköterskor finns ett ansvar att se till patienters bästa och vårdmiljön är en del av upplevelsen för patienten.

Abstract

Background: The surrounding environment effects people’s wellbeing, to be surrounded by nature has several positive effects. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the importance of the health facility environment for patient's well-being. Method: A descriptive literature study with descriptive design. Main results: Single or multi-bed ward proved to be an important factor which affected patients' well-being. Some patients preferred single rooms as it was more secluded and private, other patients were positive about multi-bed wards where interaction with other patients had a positive effect on their well-being. The opportunity to see nature and daylight through the room window was important for patient’s well-being, which was also observed in patients' recovery. Conclusion: The environment in care plays an important part in nursing. What emerged in this study are factors that are important for patients and the perceived well-being. As future nurses, there is a responsibility to look after patients' best interests and the health facility environment is part of the experience for the patient.
