Probation offices exposure to threat and violence during the pandemic anddigitalization. : A quantitative pilot study that examines probation inspectors' experienceregarding change in the exposure for the employees. (English)
Abstract [en]

The aim for this study was to research how the digitalization that came with the covid-19pandemic affected probation service employees' exposure to threat and violence. Thisessay is to be considered a pilot study. This was implemented by a survey sent out toevery probation service office in Swedens probation inspector, which is the first linedirector of each office. The surveys offered both qualitative and quantitative questionsthat were analyzed accordingly. It emerged from the study that the probation inspectors'experience regarding the effects of the digitalization differed, both overall and withinoffices where more than one inspector worked. Other conclusions were that more of therespondents in the survey said that the exposure to threat and violence had increased dueto the digitalization more so than the exposure during the pandemic had increased. Thedigitalization and the pandemic are closely related to each other since the pandemichurried the digitalization, but according to the probation inspectors’ experience theexposure to threat and violence is more linked to the digitalization than the pandemicitself
