Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The report was performed on behalf of construction contractor SSEA, which has the ambition to expand its operations in Gävleborg but lacks an overall picture of the market and its competitors. The report examines both future construction projects and who the competitors are in order to be able to present an implementation strategy at a later stage. The methods used are both quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data were col-lected by reviewing various project databases and websites. Interviews were then conducted with builders to gain a greater insight into the projects. The report focuses on future construction projects over the next two years that have an estimated cost between SEK 100–500 million. Construction investment in Gäv-leborg is expected to decrease by 10% during the period 2022–2023 due to the Ukraine war, the pandemic, increased material prices and interest rate increases. The results show that Gävleborg has around 20 upcoming construction projects in the next few years where housing is dominated, followed by commercial properties, schools and hospitals. The report also analyzes the competitors within Gävleborg who have carried out similar projects. A total of 21 competitors have been identified where NCC Sverige AB and SEHED Bygg Gävleborg AB are the largest with five and six completed projects respectively over the past five years. The conclusion is that Gävleborg is judged to offer good opportunities to establish itself in the market as there is a large selection of future projects, both in the public and private sectors.
