Background: The covid-19 epidemic is spreading globally, and the restrictionsimposed by the epidemic pose significant challenges for older cognitively impairedpopulations and their carers, and social isolation will have a profound impact on theirhealth and well-being. Understanding the experiences of older cognitively impairedpopulations and their carers can help improve the quality of care and social support.Aim: The aim of the study was to describe the experience of older cognitiveimpairment groups and their carers under the background of COVID-19 socialisolation.Design: The design of this study is a descriptive literature reviewMethod：Ten articles searched from PubMed and Cinahl were selected to answer thepurpose of this review. By reading the selected articles, the authors collated andcompared their results and summarized the experiences of the older cognitivelyimpaired group and their carers.Result: Through an inductive analysis of 10 articles describing the experiences ofolder cognitively impaired groups and their carers in the broader context of socialisolation in the covid-19 epidemic, we summarized the results into 4 themes: (1)Physical changes (2) Psychological changes (3) Social support (4) Daily life changes.Conclusions: Social isolation in the broader context of the covid-19 epidemic hasbrought additional limitations and changes in the daily lives of older cognitivelyimpaired groups and their carers. They face deteriorating health aspects as well asloneliness and negative emotions. For the closure or restriction of infrastructure, etc.,they have created a new set of emerging needs. It is necessary for nurses to increaseeducational guidance and support the new emerging needs of the older cognitivelyimpaired group and their carers.Key words: Cognitive impairment, Older people, Dementia, COVID-19
