Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The study investigated how social workers in domestic violence teams and child units define and detect post-separation violence, and how their collaboration affects support for victims. Group interviews with six social workers revealed that post-separation violence is seen as subtle continuation of previous abuse, often involving physiological control and manipulation of shared children. Domestic violence teams use tools like FREDA to identify violence, whereas child units rarely discuss it in specific terms, potentially mistaking it for spousal conflicts. The study highlights differences in collaboration between two municipalities: in the smaller municipality, physical proximity enhances collaboration, while a shared reception unit in the larger municipality has improved coordination. Challenges include a lack of transparency and coordination during case transfers, resulting in fragmented processes and difficulties in providing comprehensive support. The study emphasizes the importance of regular follow-up meetings and professional development to strengthen collaboration and improve support for domestic violence victims.
