Abstract [en]

Background: Crisis Leadership is a crucial aspect of organizational management, particularly in the context of healthcare organizations facing uncertainties and adversities. The study has explored the complexities of crisis leadership within healthcare settings, aiming to provide insights and strategies for effective leadership during turbulent times.Aim: The study aims to explore the crises faced by managers in healthcare organizations, their challenges in crisis leadership, and potential strategies to address these challengesduring uncertain situations.Method: The study has used a primary qualitative research method to conduct theresearch. With this method, interviews were conducted face-to-face with front-linemanagers, mid-level managers, and senior managers at their offices due to challenges inscheduling online sessions amidst their busy routines. There were a total of eightinterview questions prepared to receive the responses from seven participants of the study.Findings: From the responses, six themes along with the codes were designed to performfurther thematic analysis. Along with that, the responses received from the managers shedlight on some of the potential challenges including insufficient financial risk assessments, medical equipment failures, and lack of sufficient technology. To address all thesechallenges, the measures implemented by the managers include incident responseprotocols, emergency response plans prioritizing occupant safety and infrastructurepreservation, regular equipment inspections and maintenance checks, routine financialrisk assessments, real-time data monitoring to prevent inventory or supply disruptions, and various other initiatives. Other than that, one of the potential challenges faced in thestudy was limited access to the most relevant articles and journals, as the researchprioritized academic integrity by using only accessible and credible sources. Additionally, other potential limitations were faced as busy respondent schedules and language barriers. Conclusion: From the findings, it has been concluded that there is a critical need to keepmanagers informed about technological advancements, updated regulatory frameworks, and effective team leadership practices. Implementing targeted training and developmentprograms within healthcare firms can mitigate losses and minimize risks associated withworkplace uncertainties.
