The study aims to examine the challenges and key factors related to the integration of migrants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as perceived by migrants and social workers. Using semi-structured, the study points out integration challenges consisting of logistical hurdles, language and cultural barriers, social exclusion, vulnerability and discrimination. It also identifies key factors contributing to successful integration consisting of language proficiency, cultural understanding, community engagement, the role of NGOs and government programs and acceptance from the local community. The study contributes to research about integration, specifically in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria even though it might also be relevant in other contexts. Future research could examine how factors such as gender, socio-economics and ethnicity affects the experience of integration in Las Palmas. Future research could also look into and aim to develop more specific strategies and programs for integration in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria based on the challenges and key factors for integration that were discovered in the study
