2010 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to investigate what religious people believe that students in the Swedish compulsory school and high school should learn about their particular religion. The study is inspired by Bo Dahlin’s views on the experiences of other religions and cultures; Dahlin means that it gives students a basis from which they can develop their own thoughts and reflections, the study is also inspired by Kjell Härenstam’s thoughts that it may be important for the students’ development and education to learn the various traditions. Six people who are adherents of various religions have been interviewed; the interviews are then used as sources and as a basis for investigation. The interviews showed that the religious people believe that students in the Swedish primary schools and high schools should learn from the informants’ ways of thinking about community, the future, the inner life, personal awareness, internal and external difficulties, and more.
