Abstract [sv]

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva allmänsjuksköterskans syn på sitt ledarskap och dess påverkande faktorer i omvårdnadsarbetet på särskilt boende.  Metod: Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ beskrivande intervjustudie. Sex legitimerade sjuksköterskor utan specialistutbildning i en kommun i Mellansverige intervjuades under digital inspelning utifrån semistrukturerade intervjufrågor. Med en induktiv ansats transkriberades och analyserades intervjumaterialet av författarna. Fem kategorier med ett övergripande tema växte fram under analysen. Resultat: Resultatet presenterades som ett övergripande tema: Svårt att leda utan stöd och förtroende från ledning och medarbetare. Temat utgick ifrån fem huvudkategorier som analyserades fram utifrån intervjumaterialet: Stöd i den arbetsledande rollen, Kommunikation och samarbete, Förtroende att leda, Motarbetad i ledarskapet och Förutsättningar från verksamheten. Slutsats: Ledningen behövde ge sjuksköterskan förtroendet att leda omvårdnadsarbetet genom att stötta och framhäva sjuksköterskans ledarroll samt se till att ekonomiska och tidsmässiga resurser finns tillgängliga. De deltagande sjuksköterskorna ansåg även att de behövde stöd och förtroende från sina medarbetare att leda omvårdnadsarbetet.

Abstract [en]

Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the general approach to nursing leadership and its influencing factors in nursing, in assisted living. Method: The study was conducted as a qualitative descriptive interview. Six registered nurses without specialist training in a municipality, in central Sweden were interviewed during digital recording based, on semi-structured interview questions. Using an inductive approach, the authors transcribed and analyzed the interviews. In the end, five categories with an overall theme emerged during the analysis. Results: The results were presented as an overarching theme: Difficulties to manage without the proper support and trust from management and employees. The theme was based on five main categories that were analyzed on the basis of the interview material: Lack of support in the supervisor role, communication and cooperation, confidence to lead, Oppose Revision of leadership and Preconditions of business. Conclusion: The management needs to give nurses the confidence and strength to lead nursing by support and urge the nursing leadership role and ensure that financial as well as time resources are available. The participating nurses also felt that they need support and trust from their employees to lead nursing.
