Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Title: Rhythmic Movement Training as an alternative treatment –Parents to children with neuropsychiatric disabilities making a choice.

The aim of the study was to investigate how parents to children with neuropsychiatric disabilities experience their opportunities when it comes to choosing treatment for their children. The quest was mainly to explore why they make the choice the way they do and why a specific treatment seem appealing to them. To reach the empirical result, interviews were made with four parents who chosen Rhythmic Movement Training as a treatment for their children. Interesting founds in the result was that the parents were against treatment by medicine, which was the reason they aimed for an alternative method. The professional approach also seemed like an important point in the choice of treatment.
