Abstract [en]

Title: Employee experience of psychosocial working environment during change at the workplace.

In times of change processes the working environment at the workplace may be affected. Lack of balance between demands and the ability to handle the workload can lead to reduced work satisfaction, which is an important component for an individual’s performance and commitment. The aim is to investigate experiences in the employee’s psychosocial working environment during change management. The method is qualitative in terms of conducting interview investigations whereby the material thereafter was analyzed by thematic analysis with the help of quotations from the collected material. The results show that the employee wishes to have access to information and conditions needed to handle the demands. Discretion and social support are some of the variables that have been highlighted by the participants as important elements in the working environment. The conclusion is that the staff experiences many variables that have impact on the work satisfaction at change management.

Abstract [sv]

I tider av förändringsprocesser kan arbetsmiljön på arbetsplatsen påverkas. Brist på balans mellan krav och möjligheten att hantera arbetsbelastningen kan leda till minskad arbetstillfredsställelse, som är en viktig komponent för en individs prestation och engagemang. Syftet är att undersöka upplevelsen av anställdas psykosociala arbetsmiljö vid förändringsarbete. Metoden är kvalitativ i form av genomförda intervjuundersökningar som därefter bearbetats med tematisk innehållsanalys ur insamlat intervjumaterial som transkriberats. Resultatet visar att medarbetaren önskar tillgång till information, inflytande och att få förutsättningar för att klara kraven. Handlingsutrymme och socialt stöd hör till de variabler som lyfts fram av deltagarna som viktiga inslag i arbetsmiljön. Slutsatsen är baserad på citaten som visar att personalen upplever många aspekter som har inverkan på arbetsglädjen vid förändringsarbete.
