A compact multi-band slotted circular patch MIMO antenna with defective ground surface for wireless application2017Ingår i: 2017 4th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks (SPIN), IEEE conference proceedings, 2017, s. 33-37, artikel-id 8049911Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

A compact multi band slotted two elements MIMO antenna is designed on FR4 substrate with the dimensions 60×60×1.5 mm3 and an εr of 4.4. To achieve high isolation between the radiation elements, a Defected Ground Surface (DGS) technique is applied. The isolation between the elements and gain both increased considerably. In the simulated and measured return loss vs frequency results, multi bands are obtained. The maximum isolation is obtained as -36.32 dB at 8.8 GHz in the measured results.

Multi Band Metamaterial Based Bowtie Antenna for Wireless Applications2015Ingår i: PIERS 2015 Prague: Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium : Proceedings, Cambridge, MA: Electromagnetics Academy , 2015, s. 2368-2371Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

A new meta-material based bowtie antenna is proposed in this paper. Multi band response is observed in the simulated result of return loss for different frequencies (i.e., 1-12GHz). Apart from this it is seen that the return loss is improved in the case of metamaterial antenna in comparison to the conventional antenna. Simulated results of ζ and μ versus frequency are shown and it is observed that negative ζ and negative μ are obtained in different frequency bands respectively.

Multi-resonant Bowtie Antenna with Modified Symmetric SRR for Wireless Applications2018Ingår i: IETE Journal of Research , E-ISSN 0974-780XArtikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

A modified symmetric split ring resonator (MSSRR) loaded bowtie antenna with multi-band features over a range of 1.6–7.1 GHz is proposed in this paper. The antenna is designed on FR4 substrate with relative permittivity εr = 4.1 and thickness 1.5 mm. The fabricated antenna size is 40 mm × 58 mm. The Modified Symmetric SRR used beneath the substrate is novel and consists of two circles that are broken into four quarter circles by four rods. The effect of MSSRR location and its geometry is investigated and analysed thoroughly. The measurement results of the fabricated antenna are in good agreement with the simulation results, which confirms the proposed antenna design’s properties. ANSYS High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) software is used for simulating the antenna.

Effect on Lefthandedness from SRR Rotational Disorder2015Ingår i: PIERS 2015 Prague: Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium : Proceedings, Cambridge, MA: The Electromagnetics Academy , 2015, s. 2372-2375Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

The split ring resonator (SRR) is the key element to obtain left handedness at microwave frequencies. The orientation of the SRR relative to the electromagnetic field is decisive for achieving lefthandedness. We investigate by simulations how the lefthandedness is affected by rotational disorder of the SRRs in an array of 2 x 11 SRRs. Rotational disorder of the inner ring has a minor effect on the lefthandedness. Combined rotational disorder of inner and outer ring has a similar effect as rotational disorder of the outer ring only. Rotational disorder causes a shift in the frequency range of lefthandedness.

    A wideband frequency selective surface reflector for 4G/X-Band/Ku-Band2018Ingår i: Progress In Electromagnetics Research C, ISSN 1937-8718, E-ISSN 1937-8718, Vol. 81, s. 151-159Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

A Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) reflector with wideband response for 4G/X-band/Ku-band is proposed. The wideband FSS reflector consists of cascaded dual-layer patch FSS which is etched on separate layers of FR4 substrate. The targeted frequency range is 5–16 GHz. A wide stopband of 10.4 GHz (100% percent bandwidth) is obtained with two layers in cascade. The Equivalent Circuit (EC) method is used to approximate the simulated results. An extensive parametric study is also carried out to understand the effect of various combinations of FSS layers and their disposition. A panel of final FSS is fabricated where measured and simulated results agree well.

Design and Analysis of Metafractal Antenna for Wireless Applications2015Ingår i: PIERS 2015 Prague: Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium : Proceedings, Cambridge, MA: The Electromagnetics Academy , 2015, s. 2376-2380Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

In this paper, a new design of metafractal antenna is proposed. The dimensionof the patch is 44 £ 44mm2 and the FR4 substrate is used for this. The fractal antenna withmetamaterial ground plane is used for di®erent iterations. The results show that with the increaseof the number of iterations the bandwidth is increased. In the case of higher iterations for somefrequency bands return loss results are improved but for other frequency bands these are degraded.
