    Embedding a Culture of Enterprise and Creativity in the Curriculum (Začleňování kultury podnikavosti a kreativity do učebních osnov).

     

    Nejde o příručku ve vlastním smyslu slova. Chtěli bychom, aby byla informativní a praktická a aby vedla k pochopení toho, jak lze tvořivost a podnikání zasadit do učebních osnov a do regionálního rozvoje, jakož i do mnoha forem vzdělávací a vývojové praxe z pohledu kultury.

    Jaké jsou rámce projektu a jak jsme shromáždili naše příklady? Projekt se zaměřuje na učení prostřednictvím sdílení postupů z praxe a tím na určení a prosazení myšlenky a kultury inovace, kreativity, podnikání a podnikavosti v učebních osnovách v Evropě. V průběhu projektu měli učitelé díky sdílení příkladů zajímavých postupů z praxe příležitost rozvinout své pedagogické dovednosti a didaktické kvality a přemýšlet o nich.Měli také možnost prohloubit své chápání kultury a prostředí učení, na jejichž vytváření se podílejí a které jsou součástí vyššího společenského a vzdělávacího kontextu, jenž tuto kulturu a prostředí také ovlivňuje. Učení v těchto případech z větší části neprobíhá v izolovaných třídách. Třída se rozšiřuje do vnějšího okolí, města a světa. Má různé formy, využívá bezpočtu materiálů, výrazů a procesů. Internet se stává naprostou paralelou virtuálního vesmíru, který zahrnuje.

    Má ještě jiné aktéry než pouze učitele, žáky a zaměstnance. Formální a neformální vzdělávací prostředí učení se scházejí a mění. Ve většině případů se jeho aktéři vzájemně ovlivňují a jsou ve vzájemném vztahu, chápou sami sebe v druhém a druhého v sobě samých jako tvůrčího účastníka světového života. Transparentnost kultury a prostředí učení se posiluje a prohlubuje. Každý se stává žákem a učitelem ve snaze učinit učení vědomým a určitým a jednat v rámci schopnosti tvořit, učit se a realizovat se. Tímto jsme se dostali k zásadnímu povědomí o pevně zakotvené a rozvrstvené, jakož i o organické a vlastní povaze učení a vzdělávání. Statický typ třídy se stává neurčitým. Tím se odhaluje skutečnost, že učení probíhá v organizačních, jakož i kulturních, konkrétních a abstraktních úrovních či vrstvách, jež se navzájem prolínají. Vrstevnatá a holistická komplexnost hýbe předscénou s klasicky oddělenými částmi, kterými jsou obsah, cíl, metoda, učitel a student, jako svými interdynamickými silami. Stejně činí nadšený, zvědavý a podnikavý „homo ludens“

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: This study's overall aim is to build on recent research, by examining and investigate the Indian host country nationals (HCN) perception on Swedish male and female expats and how their beliefs affects outgroup categorization. This is done by testing Varma et al. (2011) model for self -categorization and if it is applicable in other cultural condition than those already included in their model Method: Data were collected from 145 respondents from two Swedish Multinational Enterprises (MNE) located in Southern India. Respondents answered a questionnaire that had either a male or female profile, where they had to answer assertion about how they would perceive the expat and to what extent they would be willing to give the hypothetical expat role information and social support. The questionnaire was designed by Professor Varma and was distributed to company 1 through a web survey and was handed out in person to company 2 in Bangalore. We also had the opportunity to talk with the expats in Bangalore which was done to get a deeper understanding of our results. Results and Conclusion: As we predicted collectivism, ethnocentrism, adjustment and similar values was negatively related to outgroup categorization. Furthermore, the outgroup categorization was negatively related to social support and role information. However, an interesting finding where that Indian HCN does not distinguish between the sexes when it comes to their perceptions and outgroup categorization of expats. Suggestions for future research: Research should examine how HCN perceive their Indian female employees compared with Swedish female employees. To further explore if the nationality comes before gender in India. Furthermore, we believe that more qualitative studies should be done about the HCN to find out if there are additional variables that influence HCNs categorization of expats. Orginality/value: This study extends the existing literature on female expats and we found a new variable, adjustment, which influence the outgroup categorization.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The aim of this study is to better understand how a seller indicate empathy in the relationship with a customer. Previous research regarding empathy effects is the main focus in our interest for this study and more specifically; how a customer experience that the real estate agent indicating affective and cognitive empathy in a sales relationship.

     

    Method: With regards to the aim of the study, a study of qualitative nature was chosen. For qualitative data, we used previous research materials and semi-structured interviews. The interview have been conducted with respondents who have hired a real estate agent in the past three years. Well-grounded theory was used as analytical method of the empirical material.

     

    Conclusions:

    The study indicates that the customer experience both affective and cognitive empathy in the encounter with the real estate agent. Through the analysis we noticed the differences and similarities of the answares from the interview. More specifically, we believe that customer perception of empathy is experienced differently by different individuals.

     

    Suggestions for future research: In our opinion further research should include more variables, such as age, sex, personality or situation. This is a deficiency in our study and we believe that it would be interesting to examine how empathy is perceived depending on individual factors susch as personality, age and background.

    Contribution of the thesis:

    We believe that trough this study we have gained a better understanding of the ability to indicate empathy for the customer and through our work we have detected different categories from which customers experience empathy.

    Titel: DART- en modell för värdesamskapande - En studie i hur fastighetsmäklare och kunder samskapar värde

    Syfte: Att kunder intresserar sig för ett värdeskapande tillsammans med företagen och vill delta allt mer i affärsprocesser, framför allt i tjänstesektorn, ligger i tiden. Då vi båda kommer arbeta i en tjänstebransch där det krävs samarbete med kunder, väcktes vårt intresse att fördjupa oss i ämnet. Syftet med den här studien är att utifrån ett företags- och kundperspektiv öka förståelsen för hur delarna dialog, access, riskbedömning och transparens påverkar värdesamskapandet i en säljprocess mellan tjänsteföretag och kunder.

    Metod: I studien har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod. Underlaget till studien samlades in genom semistrukturerade djupintervjuer med både fastighetsmäklare och kunder (säljare). Från intervjuerna har vi tagit ut nyckeltermer och presenterat dem i empirikapitlet. Utifrån ett deduktiv angreppssätt har det empiriska underlaget analyserats mot teorin och respondenternas svar har även jämförts sinsemellan.

     

    Resultat & slutsats: Av de faktorer vi undersökte visade sig dialog och transparens ha ett starkare samband och vara mer framträdande vid värdesamskapande än access. Dessutom låg riskbedömning snarare till grund för de tre andra faktorerna vilket vi anser borde revideras och tydliggöras i modellen. Ett annat resultat från vår studie är att ett värdesamskapande snabbt kan övergå till ett värdeförstörande om det inte hanteras på rätt sätt igenom hela affärsprocessen.

     

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Det vore intressant att prova våra två omarbetade DART-modeller i en studie med fler respondenter då vårt urval varit begränsat i storlek. Vi finner det också intressant att se om den befintliga DART-modellen är applicerbar i en studie där  utgångspunkten är en annan tjänstebransch där risktagandet inte är av samma betydelse. Vi föreslår även att utföra studier på området med ett induktivt angreppssätt, då vår studie varit begränsad till en befintlig teoretisk modell.

     

    Uppsatsens bidrag: Ett teoretiskt bidrag från vår studie är att DART-modellen borde omformas. Den visade sig inte applicerbar fullt ut i vår studie. Vi har därför vidareutvecklat två modeller baserat på ursprungsmodellen. Dialog och transparens visade sig vara starkt sammankopplade och viktiga verktyg för mäklarna för att få kundernas förtroende. Det ser vi som ett praktiskt bidrag då vi anser att kombinationen av dialog och transparens är central och kan vara kopplad till förtroendeskapande även i andra tjänstebranscher. Kunders helhetsupplevelse, såväl monetärt som relationsmässigt, har i vår studie visat sig vara avgörande för det upplevda värdet.

    Syfte - Vårt syfte med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka vad det är som påverkar mäklarstudenter vid Högskolan i Gävle när de väljer sin framtida arbetsgivare. Vi har valt att undersöka Mäklardagen i Gävle som rekryteringsverktyg. Därutöver har vi även för avsikt att undersöka mäklarföretagens arbete för att nå ut till studenterna.

    Metod - De empiriska data som vi samlade in gjordes med hjälp av en enkätundersökning till fastighetmäklarstudenterna på Högskolan i Gävle. Enkätfrågorna baserades på olika påståenden om företagen och deras medverkan, detta för att få ett ställningstagande men också för att få reda på om studenterna har samma uppfattning som vi. För att sedan ta reda på hur företagen i själva verket vill framställa sig genomförde vi sex telefonintervjuer med utvalda företag som vi ansåg stod ut i mängden på ett eller annat sätt. Detta gjordes för att vi skulle få en uppfattning om vad som får studenterna att välja ett visst företag samt hur företagen vill profilera sig.

    Resultat och Slutsats - Våra slutsatser visar främst att Mäklardagen i Gävle utgör en stor del i både mäklarföretagens rekrytering och studenternas sökande efter en framtida arbetsgivare. Studenternas uppfattning av företagen påverkas inte i lika stor utsträckning som vi förväntat oss utav sidoaktiviteter som anordnas under dagen.

    Gällande mäklarföretagens roll som arbetsgivare under Mäklardagen så är det personliga mötet höjdpunkten under dagen, det är också där de skapar ett intryck som studenterna sedan bär med sig.

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning - Eftersom tidigare forskning gällande rekryteringsdagar som Mäklardagen i Gävle är ytters begränsad så ser vi behovet av breddning inom ämnet som stort. Något som skulle kunna vara intressant att studera vidare är respektive företags agerande på Mäklardagen utifrån arbetsgivarens perspektiv. Vidare skulle en belysning av huruvida employer branding och employee branding används av företagen på Mäklardagen vara intressant att ta del av.

    Uppsatsens bidrag - Vi ser vår studie som ett hjälpmedel och verktyg för mäklarföretagens förståelse av studenternas val av framtida arbetsgivare. De slutsatser vi kommit fram till kan vara av stor nytta för de medverkande företagen i deras arbete med studentrekrytering.

    Aim: The aim of this study is to test the relationship between ownership concentration and dividends in listed Swedish firms.

    Method: This study has a quantitative method and a deductive approach. The financial data has been collected via the database ”Retriever”, information about the ownership of the companies was manually collected from the book ”Ägarna och makten” (Sundqvist, 2015).

    Result and conclusions: The result of the study is that dividends may variate due to the independent variables. However, there is not a significant relationship between ownership concentration and dividends.

    Contribution of the thesis: The contribution of this study provides further information regarding ownership concentration and dividends, we find that the financial ratios of the companies have a larger impact on the dividends than the ownership concentration.

    Suggestions for future research: The result of this study adds alot of curiosity to the future studies about this subject. Our suggestions to future research is to elaborate Agnblads (2001) theory about foreign ownership and how it might affect companies in Sweden. We also propose to research further about the Agency-theory and which effects it has on the Swedish listed firms since we have a concentrated ownership.

    Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka faktorer som ligger bakom valet att outsourca kontra inte outsourca och varför inte fler företag väljer att outsourca med tanke på de fördelar som finns. Utifrån teori och tidigare forskning har fyra forskningsfrågor tagits fram som sedan testas under kapitlet resultat.

    I denna uppsats har kvalitativ metod använts. Sekundärdata har hämtats från lit-teratur i form av böcker och artiklar. Inspiration har även hämtats ifrån tidigare uppsatser, tidningsartiklar och olika internetsidor. Primärdata har insamlats med hjälp av semi-strukturerade intervjuer som sedan redovisas under kapitlet resultat. Primärdata har ställts mot sekundärdata för att analysera vilka likheter respektive skillnader som finns. Stäm-mer forskningsfrågorna, hämtade från teori och tidigare forskning, med svaren från intervjuerna?

    Genom intervjuerna har det uppmärksammats att intervjuobjekten haft både positiva och negativa erfarenheter av outsourcing. Dock framkom det att de ne-gativa erfarenheterna ofta överväger de positiva och att de som tidigare outsourcat valt att inte göra det igen.

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att öka förståelsen för automatiseringens påverkan på revisionsprocessen idag och i framtiden med avseende på tillförlitlighet och revisionsrisk. Studien utgår från tre forskningsfrågor: Påverkar automatisering revisionsriskmodellen? Hur påverkar automatiseringen revisionens tillförlitlighet? Hur anser revisorer att automatiseringen kommer påverka tillförlitligheten och revisionsriskmodellen i framtiden?

    Metod: Då studiens syfte varit att öka förståelsen för ämnet har vi använt en kvalitativ metod. För insamlandet av empiriskt material har semistrukturerade intervjuer utförts med elva respondenter. Materialet har sedan analyserats med hjälp av tematisk analys.  

    Resultat & slutsats: Studiens resultat visar att automatisering kommer påverka både revisionsriskmodellen och revisorns tillförlitlighet. Revisionsriskmodellen behöver ta hänsyn till den ökade användningen av automatiserade system. Det kan göras genom att introducera en automatiseringsrisk. Revisionsrisken överlag kommer sjunka i och med att större mängd data kan granskas och mänskliga revisorn kan lägga sin tid på bedömningsfrågor. Revisorns tillförlitlighet kommer öka och kommunikation kommer vara en bidragande faktor till det.

    Examensarbetets bidrag: Vår studies bidrag är att revisionsriskmodellen inte är tillräcklig för att estimera automatiseringsrisken och att de därför bör tillkomma en ny komponent i modellen för att estimera risken med automatisering. Studien skapar även förståelse för att kommunikation kommer vara av stor vikt för revisionsbyråer om de vill behålla sin tillförlitlighet när revisionsprocessen blir mer automatiserad. 

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Vår studie fokuserar endast på revisorer, därför är ett förslag på framtida forskning att fokusera på andra parter som också påverkas av automatiseringen av revisionsprocessen. Andra förslag på vidare forskning är att jämföra stora och små företag för att se vilka som enklast implementerar ny teknik och att studera förändringen i efterfrågan på kunskapen hos nyanställda till följd av att mer ny teknik implementeras.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The aim of this study is to improve our understanding on how communication and employee involvement affect employees' attitude towards an organizational change.

    Method: Our research approach is qualitative. The empirical data was collected through semi structured interviews conducted at Polismyndigheten Region Nord, which is currently undergoing an organizational change. We used our own model, based on previews researched, to analyse the data.                   

    Conclusions: The lack of good communication and low employee involvement leads to employees’ developing a negative or indifferent attitude towards an organizational change. Communication is the strongest factor do to the fact that good communication is essential for making employees’ feel involved in the changing process. Our study also shows a connection between a negative attitude towards an organizational change, and employees’ being against change in general.

    Contribution of the thesis: Provide a greater understanding for which factors that influence employees’ to oppose an organizational change, as well as which impact communication and employee involvement have on employees' attitudes towards an organizational change.

    Suggestion for future research:           Our conclusion based on this study, is that poor communication makes employee’s feel that they are not involved in the change process, which leads to a lack of confidence for the organisation and a resistance for the organizational change. Our suggestion for future research is therefor to test our new model to see if our conclusions are transferable to other organizations undergoing a change process.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is with the base from the empirical investigation contribute to the development of theoretical models concerning the decision-making process.

     

    Method: This study has been based on a hermeneutic perspective. With use of the abduction method we have worked with theory and practice iteratively. A qualitative approach designed as a case study with four interviewed anonymous companies using a semi-structured interview guide.

     

    Theoretic frame: A normative and a descriptive decision theory are being described in order to work as a foundation in how decisions can be made. Thereafter we present the problem that occurs from differences between theory and practice that other scientists enhances. Theory concerning M&As and a model on how this can be executed are presented.          

     

    Conclusion: The purpose of this study is to development theoretical models and the study has shown that it is important to regard the human factors. These have a weaker emphasis in theory, but our empirical investigation has shown that it is important to use intuition and hunch when dealing with a complex situation. When executing an M&A the study indicates that culture and the individuals should be considered more to make sure that they are consistent with their own.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: According to previous research acquisitions have a tendency not to provide the aimed value. Therefore the main purpose of this study is to give an enhanced understanding of the socio-cultural integration after a merger. The study also aims to illustrate the role of leaders and human aspects that can be important to consider when integrating.

    Method: This study has a hermeneutic perspective with a base of social constructivism. The theory and the empirical material have been approached iteratively with the help of abduction method. The design of the study is a case study with a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews. When collecting and analyzing the empirical material the study has been inspired by grounded theory.         

    Result & Conclusion: The study indicates that there is a balance act between answering the employees’ questions while maintaining the long term goals. The main aspects in this study are that the management has a big role to coordinate and enable a successful integration, where communication has been seen as one of the most important aspects to consider.   

    Suggestions for future research: Integration of organizational culture can be seen from different perspectives and this study is defined to socio-cultural integration from a leader’s perspective. In addition there also exist several research areas within organizational culture that are of interest.        

    Contribution of the thesis: The contribution from this study is the balance act between consider employees’ and their questions, but at the same time try to maintain focus on the company’s long term goals. The individuals hold the key and cannot be neglected because the organization then is at risk of not performing.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The research project discusses foreign direct investment as well as the attractiveness of the region of Gävleborg within this context. The researchers attempt to investigate why foreign direct investment is not yet common within the aforementioned region. Moreover, the aims of the master thesis are evaluating the region of Gävleborg and current strategies of enticing foreign investments, as well as detecting roadblocks that hinder the establishment. Lastly, generating an outline of how to improve foreign investment attraction ought to be investigated.

    Results & Conclusion: Gävleborg has a good infrastructure and accessibility, and is characterised by lower labour and living costs compared to other Swedish regions. Nonetheless, the number of inward investment is quite low. Main reasons for that are the lower level of education, high labour costs for low skilled jobs, missing financial incentives and a non-continuous work to attract inward investment. Therefore, the region may work on its attractiveness by increasing its awareness through attending trade fairs, and by collaborating with established companies and their partners.

    Abstract [en]

    Our objective of the thesis is to investigate how the Washington Capitals strategically works to create experiences in the context of hockey games and the surrounding events.

    • How does the Washington Capitals create experiences?
    • Is there anything to learn from the Washington Capitals experience strategy?
    • Can their way of work be linked to theories about the experience economy?

     

    Method: Secondary data such as printed sources and books, previous studies and articles.We conducted a qualitative field study in Washington D.C. We interviewed people at the organization of Washington Capitals and carried out participant and non-participant observations at headquarters and in the arena at game events.

     

    Results & Conclusions: Washington Capitals are definitely working with experience economy, this is something that others could learn from. Washington Capitals are not working by any experience economy theories, they had never heard the term previously. However, their way of work is in line with the experience economy theories.

     

    Suggestions for future research: The presentation of this study is limited since it is difficult to highlight events that create impression by writing. A similar study could favourably be presented by a movie. To obtain a better understanding of why the audience attend hockey games further studies could be done about the audience's motivation factors, both in Sweden and in the U.S.. Further studies could also be done in collaboration with a Swedish sports club to test the theoretical methods in reality. 

     

    Contribution of the thesis: The essay can provide concrete examples of how a sports organization can work to create experiences in the context of their sporting events.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The design of a logo is of great importance to the company's identity, but it is equallyimportant for a company to have a logo that can convey their message to the consumer aswell. The purpose of this paper was thus to analyze how the atmospheric stimuli-variables,colour, typography and symbol affect the customer's perception of the logo's intendedcustomer messages within service companies.

    Method: This work was based on “mixed methods”, which is a combination of qualitativeand quantitative research methods. The empirical survey was conducted through foursemistructured interviews and an online survey was conducted. The information obtainedfrom the interviews was used to design the survey, and the population that the survey coveredamounted to approximately 5,695 respondents. Then, surveyed questionnaires were analyzedusing a correlation analysis and a cluster analysis, created in the SPSS-program, compared toprevious theory and corporate interviews.

    Result & Conclusions: Companies can have messages with good motivations behind them,but despite that it is difficult for respondents to perceive them through just one logo. Therefore, it is possible that more than a single logo is needed for these messages to reach allthe way, for example with a symbol or slogan. Respondents perceive a logo as easier toremember the times the colour stands out, the font is "beyond the usual" or when the logocontains a symbol.

    Contribution of the thesis: The study's implementation has added both practical andtheoretical contributions, especially in research related to colour and typography in logotypes.Among other things, the survey has shown that companies with good reflection and wellmotivatedchoices can convey several messages and their business idea to consumers. Thisshows that it is not only corporate physical activity that is important, but as much is perceivedin the company's graphic marketing towards consumers.

    Suggestions for future research: To carry out further studies on the atmospheric stimulivariables colour, typography and symbols in the graphic profile is needed. To investigatewhich colours classified as warm, cold and neutral in different areas, such as Sweden, Nordiccountries, Scandinavia and Europe, would been relevant. Similarly, examination of the extentto which fonts of normal thickness and fat thickness affect readability would be interesting.

    Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka finansiella institutioners syn på hävstångsinstrument och utifrån detta utreda om instrumenten är ett bra investeringsalternativ för småsparare.

    Metod: Uppsatsen har en kvalitativ inriktning då tre intervjuer har genomförts för att besvara syftet. De finansiella institutionerna som intervjuades är Handelsbanken, CMC Markets och SIP Nordic fondkommission. Vidare har studien en deduktiv infallsvinkel där teorier används som grund för det empiriska materialet. Utifrån intervjuer och tidigare studier har en slutsats sedan utformats för att besvara syftet.

    Resultat & Slutsats: Uppsatsens resultat talar för att hävstångsinstrumenten är ett bra alternativ för småsparare som är intresserade, risktoleranta och aktivt söker kunskap. Småspa­rare som har dessa egenskaper och dessutom har ett bra kompletterande sparande kan därför med fördel investera i dessa instrument. För småsparare som inte har den risktolerans och kunskap som krävs för ett lyckat resultat, kan dock andra sparalternativ vara ett bättre val.

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Då resultatet av denna uppsats är baserat på finansiella institutioners syn på hävstångsinstrument, vore det intressant att utreda samma sak men att då basera det empiriska materialet på intervjuer eller enkäter med småsparare som använder instrumenten. Detta skulle i sådana fall ge forskaren svar på hur instrumenten uppfattas av småspararna själva.

    Uppsatsens bidrag: Tidigare forskning inom detta område finns enbart i liten utsträckning. Därmed bidrar vår studie med att öka kunskapen om hävstångsinstrument. Uppsatsen ger en bred bild av hävstångsinstrument som sparalternativ och bidrar med att ge en förståelse för vilka hävstångsinstrumenten passar till.

    Introduction: For businesses to succeed and to get satisfied customers, they need to meet their expectations. The companies make promises to customers through external marketing, internal marketing needs to ensure that personnel have the tools required to deliver what is promised. Competition is increasing and hence the customer requirements have to be met. Through the implementation of internal marketing, companies can strengthen staff skills and motivation to perform a more committed and effective work, both internal and during customer contacts.

    Aim: The aim of this paper is to understand the implementation and the importance of internal marketing in service companies. Through our in-depth knowledge of the subject, from a theoretical and practical perspective, we will hopefully be able to convey the challenges businesses face when implementing internal marketing.

    Method: This paper is to achieve a greater understanding of the studied subject. We apply a qualitative approach with an inductive view. The empirical data were collected through semi structured interviews with the real estate brokerage companies three different categories of staff at office level. A deepening in the literature and previous research has been applied to create a base for the interview questions we ask in the collection of the empirical data, and to seek answers to our research questions.

    Discussion: The paper shows that internal marketing is applied in varying degrees along the company's environment relating to, for example the degree of cooperation and leadership. We can see the effects of the type of salary model that exists, positive and negative in relation to the work of internal marketing. We can also see that the concept of internal marketing is unknown to the respondents, but the processes in the concept, however, is used. Problems with implementing internal marketing can we see are related to, forexample, personnel stress levels when they risk loss of income. Another problem is lack of management support regarding individual and shared goals and evaluating outcomes.

    Future research: The paper examines conditions at office level, future research could extend the analysis by examining the management of the company and its impact on internal marketing.

    Contribution: The thesis highlights a theoretical contribution to the usefulness of adapting the implementation of various payroll models and with new forms of education. The practical contribution demonstrates the potential of increasing cooperation and well-being in a competitive industry with recognized individual work.

    Syfte: Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur förväntningarna var inför införandet, och

    hur konsumenterna påverkats av det nya bolånetaket som infördes 1 oktober 2010. När det

    nu gått 18 månader sedan införandet, hur har bostadsmarknaden påverkats ur

    konsumenternas synvinkel?

    Arbetets bidrag: Tidigare studier inom området (t.ex. Gauffin, 2011; Bekeris & Lagelius,

    2011; Claesson & Megaache, 2011) fokuserar på hur hur bostadsmarknaden i sin helhet har

    påverkats av bolånetaket, med främsta inriktning på bostadsrätter i Stockholm. Denna

    uppsats bygger vidare på tidigare studier genom att undersöka huruvida konsumenterna på

    bolånemarknaden har påverkats, för att därmed utvidga kunskaper om bolånetaket och dess

    effekter.

    Uppsatsen kommer kunna användas för att diskutera om bolånetaket verkligen är det bästa

    sättet för att stoppa den osunda belåningen. Finns andra bättre alternativ som inte leder till att

    vissa utsatta grupper får svårt att ta sig in på eller helt enkelt utesluts från

    bostadsmarknaden?

    Metod: För att undersöka huruvida hypotesen stämmer att bolånetaket på ett negativt sätt

    påverkat förstagångsköpare och andra kontantsvaga grupper har både kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder använts. Kvantitativa data har främst bestått av inhämtande av artiklar

    och information från internet. Kvalitativa data har hämtats genom personliga intervjuer och

    telefonintervjuer med branschfolk, samt en enkätundersökning med förstagångsköpare.

    Resultat & slutsats: Bolånetaket har fått effekt. De höga belåningsgraderna har sjunkit, men

    marknaden har inte påverkats nämnvärt. Genom det empiriska arbetet har vissa slutsatser

    dragits. Dessa är bland annat att de nya reglerna fått en negativ effekt för förstagångsköpare

    samt att människor idag har svårare att ta sig in på bostadsmarknaden. Dock kan konkreta

    belägg för dessa slutsatser inte presenteras.

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Eftersom att bolånetaket fortfarande är relativt ungt, bara ca

    18 månader har gått sedan införandet, så kan det behövas ytterligare tid för att det helt ska gå

    att utvärdera. En aspekt som skulle vara intressant att undersöka är huruvida bankerna är

    vinnare i situationen. Bankerna erbjuder blancolån och till dessa hör högre ränta än tidigare.

    På så sätt tjänar bankerna mer pengar än de skulle ha gjort vid införandet av

    amorteringskrav. Det vore även intressant att undersöka hur stor del av de nya blancolånen

    som är kopplade till bostadsköp.

    Title: The mortgage ceiling´s impact – From a consumer perspective

    Aim: The purpose of this study is to explore the consumers’ expectations prior to, and how

    consumers subsequently were affected by the introduction of the new mortgage roof

    introduced on 1 October 2010. Eighteen months after the introduction, how has the housing

    market been affected from a consumer perspective?

    Contribution of the thesis: Previous studies in the field (eg Gauffin, 2011; Bekeris &

    Lagelius, 2011; Claesson & Megaache, 2011) focuses on how the housing market as a whole

    has been affected by the mortgage roof, with primary focus on condominiums in Stockholm.

    This paper builds on previous studies by examining whether consumers on the mortgage

    market has been affected, in order to expand knowledge of the mortgage roof and its effects.

    The paper will be used to discuss if the mortgage ceiling really is the best way to stop the

    unhealthy leverage. Are there other better alternatives that do not result in vulnerable groups

    having difficulties to enter, or simply getting excluded from, the housing market?

    Method: To investigate the correctness of the hypothesis that the mortgage ceiling

    negatively impacted first-time buyers and other groups with low amounts of cash, both

    quantitative and qualitative methods were used. The quantitative data consists mainly of

    gathering articles and data from the Internet. The qualitative data has been implemented

    through personal and telephone interviews with industry professionals, and a survey with

    first-time buyers.

    Result & Conclusions: The mortgage ceiling has had an effect. The high value ratios have

    dropped, but the market has not been significantly affected. Through the empirical work

    some conclusions have been drawn. These include that the new rules have a negative effect

    on first-time buyers, and that people today have less chance to enter the housing market.

    However, concrete evidence for these conclusions cannot be presented.

    Suggestions for future research: Since the mortgage ceiling is still relatively young, only

    about 18 months have passed since the introduction, it may require additional time to fully be

    able to evaluate. One aspect that would be interesting to examine is whether the banks are

    winners in this situation. The banks offer unsecured loans and these include higher interest

    rate than before. In this way, banks earn more money than they would have done in the

    introduction of amortization requirements. It would also be interesting to investigate what

    proportion of the new unsecured loans that are linked to home purchases.

    Syfte:

    Syftet med studien är att förmedla en insyn i bankernas arbete med implementering av interna regler, internationella och nationella regelverk i sina utländska dotterbolag i Baltikum. Detta för att ge läsaren en ökad förståelse och en djupare inblick i bankernas arbete mot ett effektivt compliancearbete.

    Metod:

    En kvalitativ undersökning riktad mot två banker utförda genom intervjuer via e-mail. Respondenterna är två personer som arbetar inom området för studien på varje bank. Den teoretiska referensramen är byggd på vetenskapliga artiklar och offentliga handlingar och är utgångspunkten för analysen. Författarna har därmed använt sig av både sekundära och primära källor till studien.

    Resultat & slutsats:

    Studiens resultat visar att vikten av compliance formuleras olika av regelverken och bankerna själva. Bankerna fokuserar på compliance utifrån företagets bästa och vill värna om bilden utåt, därmed vill de vara compliant för att skydda sig mot missnöjda kunder som kan missgynna banken medan regelverkens syfte är att skydda konsumenterna från bankerna. Slutsatserna författarna drar är att bankernas implementeringsarbete idag inte är av någon speciell karaktär riktat mot dotterbolagen i Baltikum utan det är genomgående lika processer och arbetssätt som implementeras i hela verksamheten i båda bankerna. Arbetet med compliance handlar idag om ett bra samarbete mellan alla bankernas verksamheter.

    Förslag till fortsatta studier:

    Vidare undersökning inom ämnet compliance anser författarna kan vara studier om andra företags arbete med compliance inom andra verksamhetsområden än banker. Även studier om andra bankers implementering av compliance i sina sidoverksamheter.

    Uppsatsens bidrag:

    Resultatet av studien bidrar med ny information om arbetet med compliance i två av Sveriges storbanker samt implementeringen av compliance i deras dotterbolag.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between companies’ financial performance and how the companies are rated on their involvement in Corporate Social Responsibility-activities.

    Method: This study, based on a positivist research philosophy, adopted a deductive approach with hypothesis testing and a quantitative research design with a panel-data method in the form of a cross-sectional design. This type of research design was used to collect secondary data from several years. The study population amounts to 171 companies while the sample amounts up to 130 listed companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Secondary data for CSP for the year 2009 until 2013 was retrieved from Folksam Corporate responsibility index for each year. Secondary data for the financial performance was retrieved from Retriever and Datastream databases. In addition, analysis of all the collected secondary data was based on descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis in SPSS.

    Results and Conclusions: The study’s results indicate that the relationship between CSP and CFP are significantly negative when Tobin’s Q refers to CFP. This means that the companies’ market value tends to decrease as their social performance increases. Furthermore, this study doesn’t find any significant relationship between CSP and ROA as CFP. An indication of a weak positive relationship is provided, however, albeit with no significance. The result can be explained by theories as stakeholder theory and institutional theory.

    Suggestions for further research: A suggestion is to examine the effects of the relationship of CSP and CFP after the EU directive comes into force. Furthermore, it would be interesting to conduct a study which analyzes and compares the changes over the individual years since this study only adopted an average value for all the variables during the years 2009 until 2013. It would also be interesting to investigate whether the industries according to Folksam (2013) runs the biggest business risks relating to sustainability is also increasing its social performance over the years. Furthermore, these industries should also be examined to see why some industries show a significant correlation where other industries lack this connection.

    Contributions of the thesis: Based on this study, concerned parties receives a theoretical contribution that shows a new measuring method and another perspective on the relationship of social- and financial performance, compared to previous research. This study also opens a field of research for the study of industries and why some industries show a significant correlation where other industries lack this correlation. The practical contribution in this study gives an indication of how the financial result may be affected by a higher degree of sustainability efforts to meet the new EU directive.

    Exploring knowledge transfer in reshoring2017Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    Aim: This study purposely applies knowledge transfer theoretical concepts to reshoring to enrich the research scope of both disciplines. More specifically, this study aims to explore the knowledge transfer process in reshoring.

     

    Methodology: The current research applied a qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews with seven participants from five Swedish reshoring companies were conducted. Secondary data was obtained from existing scientific articles and books.

     

    Findings & Conclusion: The main findings of the research are (1) the role of knowledge in reshoring influences knowledge transfer methods; (2) reshoring types influence on knowledge transfer actors; (3) company sizes and business types influence knowledge transfer actors and methods, and (4) knowledge transfer in different reshoring is affected by knowledge transfer factors in different ways, such as the absence of cultural, linguistic and geographical distances in outsource reshoring.

     

    Theoretical contributions: This study is one of the first to apply knowledge transfer theories to reshoring. Its developed conceptual model reflects the impacts of reshoring elements, namely the role of knowledge in reshoring, reshoring types and reshoring motivations, on knowledge transfer process. It also signifies the influence of company size and business types of companies on knowledge transfer process.

     

    Managerial implications: Reshoring companies should be aware of their reshoring types, the role of knowledge, company sizes and business types for their knowledge transfer process. These factors are influential addition to the previous identified knowledge transfer factors, such as cultural, linguistic and physical distances.

     

    Limitations:  This study explored only two reshoring types (outsource-reshoring and in-house-reshoring) of Swedish companies. Therefore, future research are suggested to investigate other reshoring types as well as other geographical areas.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The aim of this study is to create a deeper understanding of how employees look at the four sub-dimensions of the transformational leadership, and if they believe that such leadership could contribute to increased motivation and increased trust.

    Method: This study is based on a qualitative approach where we used structured interviews. We interviewed 10 people, employees of bigger companies. In order to analyze our material we used a thematic analysis.

    Result & Conclusions: The study showed the traits of the transformational leadership was desirable from an employee's perspective and also helped to get a better understanding of the characteristics/behavior that leads to an increased or decreased motivation and confidence in the leader. What was particularly interesting was that we found several negative influences on the employees of the transformal leadership used the wrong way. If the leader didn’t found a good balance the behaviors and traits that characterize the transformational leaders could lead to loss of confidence and motivation.

    Suggestions for future research: It would have been interesting to immerse themselves in our study by doing a counterpart study focused on how different personalities relate to the four under dimensions and its characteristics. This could lead to a deeper insight into how the transformational leader should adapt to different personalities. Furthermore, had a similar quantitative study be interesting to create to get a greater generalization that we could not achieve in this study.

    Contribution of the thesis: The study will contribute to create a deeper understanding of the characteristics and behaviors of the transformational leadership that is desirable from the employee's point of view. As well as those which lead to increased or decreased confidence and motivation. Furthermore, we hope to contribute practically by giving the participants of the study a better understanding of what characteristics they consider desirable in a leader.Which hopefully can affect their current workplace in a positive way.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syfte: Efter årsskiftet 2010/2011 påbörjade fotbollsföreningen Gefle IF FF implementeringen av ett kvalitetssystem för att stärka konkurrenskraften inom svensk fotboll. Forskning gällande implementeringen av kvalitetssystem säger att implementeringen får olika effektivitet beroende på hur processen genomförs. Syftet med denna studie är att utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk analysera certifieringsprocessen i Gefle IF FF, och dess påverkande variabler i form av framgångsfaktorer och barriärer.

     

    Metod: För att studera certifieringsprocessen i Gefle IF FF har en etnografisk metod använts i kombination med kvalitativa intervjuer. Data har samlats in dels genom fältanteckningar men även genom intervjuer med berörda personer i föreningen. Datan har sedan jämförts med det teoretiska ramverket för att identifiera likheter och skillnader.

                                                                                                             

    Resultat & slutsats: Undersökningen visar att trots att föreningen efterlever många framgångsfaktorer, såsom korrekt attityd till systemet, kan bristen på resurser och kvalitetssystemets utformning tillsammans utgöra ett stort hinder för certifieringsprocessens resultat. 

     

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Författaren eftersöker en jämförelse mellan olika föreningar och hur de har arbetat med certifieringsprocessen. På så sätt kan likheterna och skillnaderna i arbetssättet identifieras, men också vilka framgångsfaktorer och barriärer som påverkar de andra föreningarna.

     

    Uppsatsens bidrag: Studien påvisar hur certifieringsprocessen med fördel kan utformas i en fotbollsförening för bästa resultat, samt vilka framgångsfaktorer som är viktiga att ha i åtanke och vilka barriärer som klubben måste överkomma. Genom att ta del av undersökningen kan fotbollsföreningar få nödvändig kunskap om hur implementeringen av kvalitetssystemet ska leda till just de kvalitetsförbättringar som eftersträvas.

    Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate which factors that influence the implementation process regarding a football quality certification system and especially the certification system in Swedish elite football clubs. We will further look into which factors that are perceived as success factors and which factors that are perceived as barriers.

     

    Method: Our study has the starting point from a previous study made by Carlsson (2011), where barriers and success factors in the implementing phase of the Swedish football certification process was investigated. In this study we wish to develop our understanding of different clubs’ experiences of the certification process, we have therefore used a qualitative approach where we have interviewed four clubs’ playing in Allsvenskan (first division in Sweden).

     

    Result & Conclusions: We can conclude that even though the work with the certification system is fairly new for the Swedish elite football clubs, it appears as they have a satisfying insight into the organizational demands’ of the certification system.

     

    One significant success factor identified in the study is the clubs’ attitude towards the system, where positive attitude overcomes the experienced difficulties associated with the process. Other importing factors that have a major impact of the overall result of the process is having the right prerequisites in terms of staff, time and documentation before implementing the certification system in the club.

     

    Contribution of the thesis: This study has contributed to provide an extensive framework of the possible affecting factors when implementing a football specific quality certification system. Further contribution is the identification of two affecting factors not mentioned in the theoretical framework, communication in the establishing phase and geographical location.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The purpose of this study is to create an understanding of how a company's communication on Facebook affects the recipient's cognitive, affective and conative loyalty towards the company.

    Method: A qualitative method was suitable to get a deeper understanding of responding to the study's purpose. In order to study the companies’ communication on Facebook, there was a netnographic analysis of two clothing companies Facebook pages. This was followed by semi- structured interviews with people who followed the two companies on Facebook to get an understanding of how their loyalty is affected by the Facebook pages. The empirical data is analyzed against theory through a thematic analysis.

    Result & Conclusions: This study shows that it is important for companies to work with all kinds of loyalty to the followers on Facebook. To achieve customer loyalty on Facebook the result shows that companies should strive to publish posts with special offers and inspirational pictures to the followers. The results also showed that the followers of Lindex not experienced equally high loyalty to the Facebook page as the followers of Nelly.com.

    Suggestions for future research: As our results showed three new empirical themes, further research would be to examine these on a deeper level to see if these empirical themes are unique to our study or can be applied at several corporate Facebook pages. Further research would therefore be to examine the empirical themes we found that are important for the loyalty of the social networks to see if these could be applied to companies in other industries.

    Contribution of the thesis: This study connects previous research of customer loyalty as well as recent research of customer loyalty on social networks. The study's theoretical contributions provide a better understanding of what is important in the communication on a corporate Facebook page, and how this affects the recipients’ loyalty to the company.

    Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att utifrån miljömässiga och sociala kategorier undersöka om det skett någon förändring i omfattning hållbarhetsrapportering hos svenska kommuner mellan åren 2012 och 2016.

    Metod: Studien utgår från en positivistisk forskningsfilosofi med en deduktiv ansats. En innehållsanalys har genomförts som baserats på sekundärdata i form av årsredovisningar från svenska kommuner åren 2012 och 2016.

    Resultat och slutsats: Studiens resultat visar att den totala miljömässiga och sociala hållbarhetsrapporteringen har ökat över tid. Den sociala kategorin har visats öka mellan år 2012 och år 2016 medan den miljömässiga kategorin visat sig sjunka. Den sociala kategorin har högst procentandel båda åren och är därmed den mest framstående kategorin som rapporterats av svenska kommuner avseende social och miljömässig hållbarhetsinformation.

    Examensarbetets bidrag: Denna studie bidrar med en nationell redogörelse för hur offentliga sektorers sociala och miljömässiga hållbarhetsrapportering ser ut med utgångspunkt i GRI:s riktlinjer. Studien har ett längre tidsperspektiv än tidigare studier inomforskningsområdet vilket efterfrågats av forskare. Studien bidrar även till ökad insikt i den offentliga sektorns hållbarhetsrapportering, hur obalanserna i rapporteringen ser ut samt förändringen över tid.

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Förslag till vidare forskning är att undersöka varför obalanserna mellan kategorierna ser ut som de gör, om det finns några faktorer som påverkar men även att genomföra en liknande studie med ett längre tidsperspektiv.

    Aim: In accordance with a company‟s business model, explore and analyse alternative marketing strategies for the market introduction of an Internet-based New Service in the B2B market. This study is interesting as it explores theories within different fields of research (new services, online-services and B2B market) and analyses them together to provide alternative marketing strategies.

    Method: A qualitative research approach was conducted. By deskwork, secondary data was collected and analyzed. Formal half-structured interviews were carried out with the company from which we had received an assignment in order to enable a comparison between our theoretical findings and the knowledge the company already had.

    Result & Conclusions: Based on the theoretical research and analysis, alternative marketing strategies are suggested. The contribution of this study to the mission company is presented.

    Suggestions for future research: This study took a theoretical approach to the study of marketing strategies for an Internet-based new service in a B2B-market. Further research should concern a comprehensive quantitative research to capture currently employed strategies and analyse their consequences.

    Contribution of the thesis: This study suggests alternative marketing strategies that can contribute to the re-evaluation of the preliminary business model of the mission company which envisage launching an Internet-based service in a B2B market.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to comprehend and analyse the impact of national culture on leadership within the healthcare industry.

    Method: This is an exploratory research in which qualitative data have been used. Interviews have been held with employees at Elekta-Greece EPE, Athens in Greece. As for validity and reliability, the data for this study were collected from a real business case (Elekta) via Skype interviews and then the responses were transcribed and later analysed in relation to fundamental academic research in combination with our critical thinking.

    Findings & Conclusions: By conducting this study, we discovered that culture can play a major role in the leadership behaviour for companies that operate within the healthcare industry on a global scale. Both national and corporate cultures influence the leader(s) and the employees of a company, either in a positive or a negative way. Cultural attributes, background, history, policies, rules and regulations are some of the factors that can be a game „‟changer‟‟ for the leadership of international companies. Those characteristics can affect work performance, job satisfaction, and the image of the company. Finally our conclusions also suggest that there is a difference between other industries and healthcare industry because of the power structure and the rigidness of the last one.

    Originality & Value: This research is unique in its kind due to the fact that there is no similar case or literature that examines the impact of national culture on leadership for international healthcare companies, like Elekta. However, there has been some research conducted within this industry during the last years, covering the subject of marketing.

    Limitations & Future Research: The limitation of this research is that it is a single case study so it cannot represent and be reflected for the whole healthcare industry. Also we could not acquire raw data from the parent company so we based the comparison on the data from Elekta-Greece and secondary data for the parent company. As for further investigation we suggest the expansion of this topic by conducting more case studies, add more countries at the same time in order to be able to create results that can be generalized for a successful cultural leadership on health-care industry.

    Aim: The aim of this study is to understand how trust influence quality Guanxi in the Chinese business context.

     

    Method: An inductive qualitative research method is adopted in this study; a single case study, interview questions and semi-structured interviews are applied to collect primary data.

     

    Result & Conclusions: Quality Guanxi needs to build deep trust by combining cognition- and affect-based trust together in Chinese business context.  Meanwhile, Renqing gradually builds Ganqing (affection) through reciprocal behavior and empathy, and eventually leads to affect-based trust in Guanxi networks. Furthermore, cognition-based trust could be understood as initial trust in Guanxi networks.

     

    Suggestions for future research: Due to the limited number of interviews, the result and conclusion of this study is based on only one company (Vigor) and one country (China) perspective. Therefore generalization cannot be achieved. For further studies on this field, it is necessary to increase the scope and number of interviews, such as different industries, different positions, etc.

     

    Contribution of the thesis: This study contributes to the further understanding of Guanxi as a unique way of developing business relationships in China from the perspective of trust.  It shows how the quality Guanxi can be developed by deep trust relying on cognition- and affect-based trust.

    Aim: The purpose of the study is to understand the different education systems between Zhuhai College of Jilin University and University of Gävle. So that we can figure out what attract Chinese business students to study in University of Gävle and what is valuable for these business students.

    Method: Data collected by using the interviews, literature review. Inductive approach is used to analyze the information. Case study approach is used to analyze the general and current situation of Chinese students choosing to study oversea. 

    Result & Conclusions: Combining the knowledge of literature reviews and interviews’ data, we listed the push factors and pull factors are affecting Chinese business student’s decision to study aboard. In the case, the push factors and pull factors have big impact on the business students of Zhuhai College of Jilin University to make a decision to study at University of Gävle.

    Suggestions for future research: Since the backgrounds of our interviewees are similar who are Chinese students and have study experiences in Sweden, and there might be some deviations for our qualitative analysis. Also, the numbers of interviewees are limited. Moreover, the interviews are only useful in an exploratory study such as ours and the richness of the finding can be enhanced in further study. Therefore, we think it will be better to maintains more interviewees in the research in this aspect which can be more critical on this kind of international students’ study.

    Contribution of the study: This paper not only introduce some organization theories and theories that can be widely used in education development, but also put forward some ideas that can be used in Zhuhai College of Jilin University in the future. This paper argues some aspects that Chinese education system can be improved in the future from students’ points of view. During the process of developing the education, students also play an important part, and they will directly reflect the condition of the schools.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate the evaluation and conceptualization of service quality and its interactive impacts for customer satisfaction. This study provides some positive and constructive proposal to make up the service gap ,and provides preliminary results supported by SERVQUAL model to measure the mutual interactions between service quality and customer satisfaction. Service quality and customer satisfaction have been studied by the help of quality dimensions and some suggestions are offered for improving service quality.

    Methods: The primary data have been collected through interviews and questionnaires. The secondary data has been collected through literature review. Case study approach is used to identify the current relationship between service quality and consumer satisfaction.

    Result and Conclusions: We used five service quality dimensions to measure service quality and customer satisfaction. After survey is conducted, it has been clear that there are two dimensions (Empathy and Responsiveness) made a significant service gap between our target company and the key customer groups. The gap is the Differentiated service and the Service promptness.

    We also give our suggestions to make up the gap.            

    • Providing differentiated services.
    • Scheduling to the workload rather than to workers’ traditional schedules
    • Empowering as many staffs as possible to deal with the problems and providing initial training on how to solve most common problems
    • Customer segmentation, providing the characteristic services to customers.

    Contributions of the thesis / Value: We believe that this thesis will help Xingya Technical Communication Company (XTCC) to become more aware of service quality and constantly updated the service to overcome the customer complaints. And after the study, we find that the service quality dimensions (Empathy and Responsiveness) are the controversial issues. We think this study can provide some useful information for this research area.

    Implications: This survey contributes to the topic both at practical and theoretical levels. We also put forward our suggestions for the target service provider in order to help them improve service quality in the future.

    Abstract [en]

    Research Aim: Our aim is to understand how multinational companies integrate cultural diversity of employees in their corporate culture. To achieve this objective, we compare the employees’ perception with the company's view on the topic.

    Design/methodology/approach: A qualitative case study is conducted with three sets of questionnaires. Two sets of questionnaires were designed for the foreign and the local employees. The third set was created for the department of human resource management who represented the company’s view. Analysis is done by comparing the theories with empirical findings of the study.

    Findings: The findings revealed that corporate culture is inspired by the national culture. By implementing a proper recruiting process, socialization and teamwork, multinational companies can integrate cultural diversity successfully in their corporate culture. Several tools such as offering language courses, announcements in both languages, a welcoming at the new country booklet, mentors, anonymous feedback on cultural issues and sports or cultural outings are proposed to manage cultural diversity. These tools can be used for both the foreign and the local employees. The integration relies on both employees and the companies. However, upper management should support the department of human resources management to find solutions for the integration of a culturally diverse workforce.

    Practical implications: Contemporary studies propose tools like mentoring programs that are costly and may ignite stereotyping while managing cultural diversity. This study proposes tools that are cost-effective and functional in integrating and managing cultural diversity of employees.

    Originality/Value: Previous studies do not emphasize the role of corporate culture in integrating cultural diversity of employees. This study focuses on the empirical gap of employees’ perception on the role of corporate culture in integrating cultural diversity. It proposes, that to manage cultural diversity, companies should only focus on the national and corporate culture of the company and not necessarily of the employee’s culture.

    This paper provides a deep insight into the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) image scenario of the international buying firms and Bangladesh suppliers as well as identifies the challenges for building a positive supply chain (SC) CSR image for the suppliers of Bangladesh clothing industry. The contribution of this paper is that it improves knowledge of SC CSR image from the supplier’s as well as the buyer’s perspective. This paper also provides suggestions regarding improvement of Suppliers’ CSR image that can influence the SC CSR image.

    This research study aims to evaluate the issues and factors for building a positive organizational CSR image that enables suppliers to create positive perception in relation to stakeholders. The study identified major challenges to improve CSR image for the suppliers. Based on the findings, it is suggested that suppliers need to improve in the following areas for changes of CSR image: (1) initiate education and measures to improve the employees’ understanding and importance of CSR; (2) develop a corporate culture to give priority in building positive CSR image; (3) develop link with educational institutions for educating middle managers on CSR and its effect on company image; (4) arrange short trainings for new workers to make them understand the concept of CSR and educate them on their own responsibilities as part of the organization; (5) establish platforms for sharing knowledge between suppliers to increase compliance.

    Aim: The purpose of this paper is that by using the SDT (Self- Determination Theory) todetermine whether the employees perceive their workplace as autonomous or controlled. Thebasic requirement to get a job at Samhall is being disabled. Samhall aim to get as manypeople as possible to leave the company for other regular employers. The reason for this isthat Samhall is a state-owned company assigned to provide development opportunities forpeople. Samhall works in the opposite direction in contrast to similar companies and we havetherefore chosen to study this company.

    Method: We used the quantitative method. Data were collected through a survey of Samhallemployees in Bollnäs, Gävle and Söderhamn. The questionnaire, in its turn, is built anddesigned by the leading researchers in the SDT (University of Rochester) and was completedin paper form. We have then compiled it in Google Documents to more easily see the resultsusing tables and graphs. By using the statistical program SPSS, we have been able to calculatemeans and standard deviations for deeper analysis, in addition, we accomplished a factoranalysis. The presentation of the results has been in writing, diagrams and tables from SPSS.

    Results & Conclusions: The results of the survey show that employees perceive Samhall asan autonomous place of work. However, the results also show that one in five workers do notknow their goal nor what they must do to get there. We have shown that our empiricismcorroborate SDT theory (Self-Determination Theory), which we prove by the factor analysis.

    Suggestions for future research: Conduct a similar study at another company and thencompare the results. Using the SDT and measure all elements at Samhall, but also to select awider geographic range of the survey.

    Contributions of the thesis: Through our work we have been able to show Samhall´sposition on our autonomy thermometer. This work has also shows that Samhall should be better in some areas.

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att jämföra frivillig CSR-rapportering hos svenska banker och reglerad CSR-rapportering hos danska banker, samt beskriva hur dessa skiljer sig åt med avseende på begreppet god rapporteringssed, som konstrueras i denna studie.

    Metod: Denna studie är kvantitativ med en deduktiv ansats, samt longitudinell och tvärkulturell. Data sammanställs via deskriptiv statistik och presenteras genom tabeller och diagram. Resultaten analyseras sedan i en första och en andra analys.

    Resultat & slutsats: Resultaten visar att tid och storlek påverkar hur mycket relevant CSR-information som bankerna lämnar ut. Det går dock inte att fastställa om land har någon väsentlig inverkan på CSR-rapporteringen, men det framgår att reglering har viss effekt. Trots detta tycks den mimetiska isomorfismen väga tyngre i denna studie än den tvingande isomorfismen. Det viktigaste resultatet är dock att samtliga svenska och danska banker är dåliga på att publicera information som är relevant för sin bransch. God rapporteringssed fyller alltså en viktig funktion genom att uppmärksamma att svenska och danska banker inte tar upp de aspekter som kan förväntas ingå i rapporteringen.

    Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Eftersom konceptet god rapporteringssed introduceras i denna studie behöver mätverktyget utvecklas ytterligare. Vidare behöver mätning av god rapporteringssed upprepas i studier med större urval för att kunna avgöra om begreppet speglar god sedvana för CSR-rapportering inom banker.

    Uppsatsens bidrag: Det viktigaste bidraget är att denna studie introducerar begreppet god rapporteringssed, vilket är ett kvantitativt mått som försöker att ringa in den goda sedvanan för hållbarhetsrapportering hos svenska och danska banker.

    Natural water retention measures (NWRM) are a multifunctional form of green infrastructure that can play an important role in catchment-scale flood risk management. While green infrastructure based on natural processes is increasingly recognised as being complementary to traditional flood control strategies based on grey infrastructure in urban areas, there are a number of outstanding challenges with their widespread uptake. At a catchment scale, it is widely accepted that NWRM in upstream areas based on the concept of ’keeping the rain where it falls’ can help reduce the risk of downstream flooding by enhancing or restoring natural hydrological processes including interception, evapotranspiration, infiltration, and ponding. However, both the magnitude of flood risk reduction and the institutional structures needed for widespread uptake of NWRM are inadequately understood. Implementing NWRM can involve trade-offs, especially in agricultural areas. Measures based on drainage management and short rotation forestry may help ’keep the rain where it falls’ but can result in foregone farm income. To identify situations where the implementation of NWRM may be warranted, an improved understanding of the likely reductions in downstream urban flood risk, the required institutional structures for risk management and transfer, and mutually acceptable farm compensation schemes are all needed.

    Current international agreements call for a significant reduction of nutrient loads to the Baltic Sea. In one of the signatory countries, Sweden, regulatory authorities have concluded that new measures will be needed to meet national reduction targets. This article evaluates the effect of one possible new measure for reducing nitrogen loads, introducing mandatory discharge permits for crop cultivation as one component of a proposed discharge permit system. Using the framework of the proposed system, expected net load reductions and permit prices are calculated for three crop permit scenarios in a catchment in Southern Sweden. In addition, gross leaching is calculated for a larger region to study the potential for reducing net loads. The article concludes that while permitting reduces loading, achieving reduction targets will require additional measures beyond the scenarios studied.

    Current international agreements call for a significant reduction of nitrogen loads to the Baltic Sea. New measures to reduce nitrogen loads from the agricultural sector and an increased focus on cost efficiency will be needed to meet reduction targets. For policy design and evaluation it is important to understand the impact of weather on the efficiency of abatement measures. One new proposed policy is the use of crop permits based on weather normalized average leaching. This paper describes the use of the Spearman method to determine the efficiency of this policy with annual weather variation. The conclusion is that the values of the Spearman correlation coefficients in the study indicate that using average leaching for the individual crops on specific soil types for calculating crop permit requirements is an efficient policy. The Spearman method is demonstrated to be a simple useful tool for evaluating the impact of weather and is recommended for use in new studies.
