    Abstract [en]

    This thesis presents a study on built-in type low profile and low volume mobile phone antennas. In a coupling element based antenna, the chassis is the main radiator and the antenna elements are the exciters for the wave modes at low frequency. The main work of this thesis is to demonstrate and investigate the performance of the coupling element based antenna and study a variety of cases with different physical lengths and different physical heights. The investigation is done by using simulators. The performance is evaluated by analyzing the impedance bandwidth and the efficiency. For the study, antenna prototypes integrating miniaturized matching circuits were modeled. Two antenna structure prototypes covering five frequency bands were manufactured and measured. The Measured results are presented and compared with simulations. Finally, the performance of the coupling element based antenna is compared with planar inverter-F antenna (PIFA) and discussed.

    Abstract [en]

    Based on the work by Vilanen et al., a small, low profile and efficientcoupling element based antenna with penta-band operations for the use inmobile telephones has been studied. The antenna was designed using the HighFrequency Structure Simulator, HFSS, from Ansoft. Two prototypes withdifferent antenna profile heights have been built, verified and tested. Thebandwidth of the antenna is extended compared to the original design. Alumped element based network is used to optimize the matching. Theresulting antenna operates (|S11|≤-5 dB) from 824 to 1300MHz and from1710 to 2170MHz, covering in total five cellular bands with an efficiencybetter than -3dB and a total volume of less than 4cm3.

    Abstract [en]

    One of the widely used NHPP models in reliability is the so-called power-law model, also known as the Duane model. A power-law model can be applied in analyzing failure data of both software and hardware systems. Nevertheless, the power-law model is no longer applicable to describe the failure behavior when a hardware/software embedded system is concerned since the failures can come from both hardware and software. How to analyze the failure data of this type is still a problem to study and a new type of model is needed to develop. In this paper, we consider the superposition of the power-law models (SPLM) as one candidate to describe the failure behaviors of hardware/software systems. The characteristics of SPLMs are thoroughly studied. It is shown that an SPLM has the intensity function that can be increasing, decreasing, increasing-then-decreasing or decreasing-then-increasing. Specifically, the identification method of the superposition of power-law processes is provided by using the TTT-plot technique. The TTT-transform of a superposition of power-law processes is DFR-like. Therefore, the conditional TTT-plot should present a convex pattern if the system failures follow a superposition process by a few power-law processes. This provides us an easy way to identify the model when the testing data is available.

    Abstract [en]

    The building was selected for a detailed study of heating consumption that is located in the city of Gävle and the top fifth energy consumption in this city in 2006. Classrooms, workshops, offices and a restaurant with kitchen compose the building of two floors.The aim of this thesis is to design the best approach to reduce consumption and achieve a high efficiency of energy utilization in these companies. The project is going to optimize the system.Series of measurements are taken to achieve the heat losses. The heat losses are calculated through the building in the first step. Afterwards, with the result of ventilation, heating and electrical usage an energy balance is made to calculate the efficiency of the installation through the building envelop.It is to study the indoor climate within a building, as well as energy consumption for the entire building. In addition, it is also used to measure the temperature of ventilation systems and check the schedule of air supply.Analyze the result of the value that is measured. Improve some part of this building that reduces the heating consumption.At last give some suggestion like construction a new roof reduce the heat loss and change some door that is not correct in the building.

    n today's complex environment, clear and sustainable energy is needed to support society development. How to develop the sustainable energy is a core issue in China. Compared with traditional energy, Wind energy has many advantages such as non-fuel cost, less pollution. And wind energy has the absolute advantage that it is worldwide  available. In many courtiers, wind energy has become a major part of their plans for sustainable development. The primary goal of this paper is to analysis advantages and disadvantages of wind power in China and the development potential of wind power in China. In this paper the main methodology is using the information about wind power in China, which is including current situation, development stage, industry development stage, and combining the real case to analysis wind power development potential in China. There are six parts of this paper which are the overview of wind power in china; case description, analysis, conclusions, suggestion, development perspectives and imagination In the first part, the overview of wind power in china, the history of wind power in china, wind resource distribution, wind power development stages, the situation of some key regions, wind  power industry develop stage and also some policies about wind power of Chinese government are discussed. The goal of this part is giving some fundamental information about wind power in China. In the second part, a real case has been described, and according to this case, the construction cost of a wind power plant in China has been discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of wind power are also analyzed based on this case study, such as long-team return, environmental impact, and also some other problem analysis. After the analysis parts, there are the conclusion parts, those parts are about the development perspectives and imagination of wind power in China.

    Abstract [en]

    Just  as  the  innovation  is  one  of  the  key  elements  in  organization,  therefore  the continued  innovation capacity will derive organization successful. Whilst, measuring and analyzing CI capacity  in organization  is an  important activity. The primary goal of this paper is to audit and analyze the continued innovation (CI) capacity in Guizhou Huagong  Tools  Company  with  the  innovation  model  developed  by  Bessant&Tidd (2005).This  research  includes  literature  study  and  case  company  investigation,  both quality and quantity research is used in this thesis in order to obey the deductive logic. The finding of this thesis showed that Huagong Tools Company relying on a series of innovation mechanism has been  an  advance  innovation but not  the best  one,  this  is due  to  a  paucity  of  radical  innovation  and  capture  ability  from  innovation, furthermore,  an  ill-defined  innovation  strategy  has  been  incriminated  as  one  of  this circumstances,  depending  on  that,  authors  briefly  summarize  suggestions  for  the problems. At  last but not  least  the discussion about  innovation  theory  expounded  in the end.

    Abstract [en]

    This paper presents the energy saving curtains, in order to make the

    consumers be more aware of the energy efficiency of the energy saving

    curtains, the paper gave related analysis and conclusions.

    The work was performed by using the Parasol Program, developed by Lunds University, Sweden. The Program is used for quantifying the influence of window size, glass type, textile type, wall thermal insulation and sun shading on annual energy use and indoor thermal comfort. The results which are obtained from the calculations are applicable to similar climatic and environment conditions. Calculations were performed to investigate the potential for using sunshade devices to reduce annual energy demand for cooling and heating. Different materials and dimensions of the energy saving

    curtain are used as variables in the analysis. The results indicated that for the current climatic conditions and other related factors, the total reduction rate of the annual energy consumption of office used buildings in Stockholm is estimated generally 20% -30% lower comparing to those buildings without energy saving curtain system. That means at least 20% of energy cost can be saved by the energy saving curtain system.

    Abstract [en]

    Environmental issues have been highly in focus for several years. With the development of EMS, many companies get environmental improvements through implementing EMS. Also, "green logistics" turns out to be a popular issue. But the combination of environment issues and logistics system is rarely found in the previous researches. Therefore, environment-oriented logistics system design becomes the topic described here.

    The purpose of the thesis is to see potential of integrating environment issues into logistic system by literature review and case study. With the help of our supervisors, two Swedish companies Sandvik SMT and FLB Logistik become case companies in the thesis. The analysis is based on literature review about logistics and environment, the information from both companies‟ websites as well as face-to-face interviews.

    In analysis part, how logistics systems and environmental issues interact with each other is illustrated firstly. A proposed model based on logistics system decision-making model is shown. SWOT analysis is used to explain the outcomes and challenges of implementing EMS in Sandvik SMT. At last, the conditions such as customer environmental requirement and the cost for using EMS are briefly described.

    Based on the research, further study should begin with the collection of quantitative data about environmental performance from manufacturing companies, suppliers, as well as retailers. More recommendations are given in the conclusion part.

    I en tid där vår miljömedvetenhet och vårt energianvändande får allt större utrymme ställs allt högre krav på de alla de material som vi använder oss av. Ett område där energianvändandet har fått allt mer fokus är byggbranschen. Med EU:s direktiv 2002/91/EG blir kravet på att våra byggnader ska vara energieffektiva allt större. Även timmerhuset som har tusenåriga traditioner måste klara de energikrav som vi har på 2000-talet. Boverket har utifrån direktivet fastställt nya krav som säger att hus belägna i den norra klimatzonen får ha en lägsta energianvändning av 130 kWh/år och 110 kWh/år i den södra.

    Endast 8” timmerhuset beläget i den södra klimatzonen klarar Boverkets krav på 110 kWh/år.

    Uppsatsen analyserar fem energisparande åtgärder:

    GeoTest: a Testing Environment for Swedish Geodata2009Konferansepaper (Fagfellevurdert)
    Abstract [en]

    GeoTest is a project initiated by Future Position X (a GIS cluster organization in Gävle, Sweden), the National Land Survey of Sweden (NLS) and the University of Gävle. The project aims to test Swedish geodata and make sure they comply with the INSPIRE specifications in Annex I–III. The purpose of this paper is to present the development of and experiences from GeoTest in developing the required infrastructure for testing Swedish geodata.

    Due to the high demand for geodata in modern society, and anticipated requirements by INSPIRE, the issue of testing a national SDI is very important. An adequate testing environment is required. In this context, two aspects are discussed:

    1. Technical requirements for GeoTest.

    2. Organizational and coordination aspects.

    The technical requirements for GeoTest are to provide an environment to test current specifications in the context of INSPIRE Annex I. The methodology is crucial to govern the testing process. The developed methodology mainly relates to the transformation testing of the themes specified in Annex I–III. The objective of the tests is to ensure that the specifications are balanced in terms of costs and that they contribute to address user needs. At this stage, GeoTest focuses on transformation testing. The aim is to test that the transformations from local schemas to INSPIRE schemas are technically feasible.

    The methodology is based on four stages; the main strategy used in this testing was the ETL (extract-transform-load) approach. The testing process started with a preliminary desk study, with the objective to collect basic information about the themes and identify the availability and sources of schemas. The extraction process helped to identify the costly procedures when generating GML data that conform to the source schemas; in this stage we encountered some problems in the extraction process, as the data are loosely coupled to the source schema. The transformation procedures of the GML data from the extraction process to the INSPIRE GML schema performed in three sub-stages, mainly related to schema mapping, matching and transformation.

    The testing process was coordinated with NLS, via one contact person per theme. The extraction for the sample data was based on random selection of 5% of the sheet index. The paper presents the results of testing five themes addresses, cadastral parcels, geographical names, hydrography, and transport networks. The result shows that in total, 13 INSPIRE schemas has been investigated. Of these, data may be delivered for 10 schemas.
