Online dating has developed through the last decade, from meeting people at the bar or through common friends, to a stranger just one swipe away in the mobile phone. Tinder which was launched in 2012, is a popular dating app among young adults. It´s used regurarly in their everyday life. Tinder has in different ways created a world where online dating is constantly a part of our everyday life and social life. The purpose of the survey was to find out how young adults are using and experiences Tinder. We also wanted to know how theories like social constructivism, mediatization, deep mediatization, data and algorithms and gender are a part of online dating. This survey has been performed by a qualitative method in the form of an interview study. 10 people in the ages from 20–27 was interviewed, five men and five women. The interviews lasted for 12–16 minutes. The results showed that the users perceived Tinder as an unserious and superficial app, almost like a game. They thought that an interesting profile with good pictures was most important for them to swipe right. Tinder has in different ways changed the online dating in the social world. Data and algorithms can through behavioral data collect information about the users. Then adapt the offer to what they like. The people we interviewed didn´t think Tinders offer was something they were looking for. It was more often men took the inititative to start a conversation on the app. While the women felt that they got more matches.
