Background: Frailty has become a hot topic in the field of geriatric medicine and has received widespread attention from researchers both domestically and internationally. But there is no consensus definition of frailty. And there is still relatively little research on the older people's understanding of frailty and how frail older people live their life. This limits the effectiveness of strategies for improving frailty management and prevention.Aim: To describe older people's perception and experience of frailty in their daily life. Methods: We searched the PubMed, and CINAHl databases to identify all relevant studies using the items “frailty,” “older people,” “perception,” and “experience” and compared their results. Understanding and experience of frailty among the older in different articles were list in the figure and compared. Results: We identified three main themes: (1)a view of frailty from the perspective of the old people,(2) effects of frailty on physical, psychological, and social participation and (3)different coping styles and attitudes towards frailty. Conclusion: Our research explores older people's perceptions and experiences of frailty, providing insight into the impact of frailty on various aspects of older persons (physical, psychological and social engagement) and how older people cope with frailty. It is very important for the older people to recognize frailty correctly and to support and intervene as soon as possible.
