Abstract [en]

As production processes become increasingly complex, the need to analyze factors affecting efficiency, ergonomics, and environmental sustainability grows accordingly. The aim of this thesis is, from a lean perspective, to empirically analyze efficiency, ergonomics, and environmental sustainability in a decentralized packing process and a centralized delivery process. The study also aims to propose relevant improvement measures that can contribute to a balance between these three aspects. The work is based on observations, semi-structured interviews, spaghetti diagrams, and quantitative measurements. The results show that several forms of waste (muda) exist within the processes, such as waiting times, unnecessary movements, heavy lifting, and low pallet fill rates. Improvement proposals include digitalization, layout improvements, increased standardization, and the introduction of technical aids. The conclusions demonstrate that lean principles can be applied to simultaneously enhance efficiency, ergonomics, and sustainability in complex production environments.

I takt med att produktionsprocesser blir alltmer komplexa ökar behovet av att analysera faktorer som påverkar effektivitet, ergonomi och miljömässig hållbarhet. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att, utifrån ett lean-perspektiv, empiriskt analysera effektivitet, ergonomi och miljömässig hållbarhet i en decentraliserad packningsprocess och en centraliserad utleveransprocess. Studien syftar även till att föreslå relevanta förbättringsåtgärder som kan bidra till en balans mellan dessa tre aspekter. Arbetet bygger på observationer, semistrukturerade intervjuer, spaghettidiagram och kvantitativa mätningar. Resultatet visar att det finns flera former av slöseri (muda) i processerna, exempelvis väntetider, onödiga rörelser, tunga lyft och låg fyllnadsgrad i pallar. Förbättringsförslag inkluderar digitalisering, layoutförbättringar, ökad standardisering och införande av tekniska hjälpmedel. Slutsatserna visar att lean-principer kan användas för att samtidigt stärka effektivitet, ergonomi och hållbarhet i komplexa produktionsmiljöer.
