Abstract [sv]

Elektrifieringen av samhället ökar i världen vilket medför att efterfrågan av ström-mätningar över större spann ökar. Detta examensarbete undersöker vilka metodersom finns för att mäta likströmmar från 1 mA till 50-100 A med fokus på noggrannhet och precision. Först genomförs en litteraturstudie om olika metoder som kan appliceras för att mäta likströmmar. En seriekopplad shuntresistor-baserad metod valdes ut och implementerades på ett mindre spann från 1 mA till 12.5 A för att utvärdera noggrannhet, precision och linjäritet. Studien visar att det finns goda möjligheter att mäta höga och låga likströmmar i ett mätsystem, men att problematiken är att noggrannheten och precisionen skiljer sig över spannet. Specifikt för shuntresistor-baserade metoder är det mätning av höga likströmmar som ger sämre noggrannhet.

Abstract [en]

The electrification of society is growing globally, which in return increases the demand for current measurements over a wider range. This thesis investigates which methods exist to measure direct current from 1 mA to 50-100 A with a focus on accuracy and precision. First, a literature study is carried out on different methods that can be applied to measure direct current. A series connected shunt resistor-based method was chosen and implemented over a smaller range of 1 mA to 12 A to evaluate accuracy, precision and linearity. The study shows good possibilities to measure high and low current in a test system, but the problematic part is that accuracy and precision will differ over the range. Specifically for shunt resistor-based methods where measurement of high direct currents will give worse accuracy
