Abstract [sv]

Totalt deltog 69 personer i studien.

Abstract [en]

Urbanization leads to environmental problems like noise, air pollution, and less green areas, which can all affect people's health. Earlier research shows that being around greenery might lower stress and help people sleep better. The purpose of this quantitative survey study was to examine the relationship between perceived greenery in the window view and sleep quality among adults in two residential areas in a mid-sized municipality in central Sweden. This study used a survey to look at the link between how green people think their window view is and how well they sleep. It was done in two neighborhoods in a city in Sweden, and 69 people took part of the study. The data were analyzed with correlation, regression, and mediation analysis. The results showed a small positive link between greenery and sleep, but it wasn’t statistically significant. On the other hand, noise had a clear negative effect on sleep. The mediation analysis also showed that greenery might help sleep by lowering the noise people are exposed to. In summary, green views from windows could help support health in cities, but more research is needed to better understand how things like stress and social conditions affect this.
