This study examines how secondary school teachers handle sensitive life issues within the framework of religious education. Previous research has shown that such topics can evoke strong emotions and be perceived as challenging for both students and teachers, making it important to understand the strategies and methods employed in the classroom. To explore this, interviews were conducted with a selection of teachers who teach religious studies. The study is based on the concepts of Safe Space and Brave Space which are used to analyze how teachers describe their working methods and the strategies they use to address sensitive topics. The results show that teachers strive to create safe classrooms where students feel confident expressing themselves, and all teachers in the study use different methods to respectfully challenge students' thinking.
