Abstract [sv]

Detta arbete behandlar riktkopplare på mönsterkort. Planära riktkopplare på somrealiseras på mönsterkort är en ekonomiskt fördelaktig lösning som kan producerasmed standardprocesser. Detta är särskilt betydelsefullt då kostnadseffektivisering avkretsar för högfrekventa applikationer är av stort intresse för tillverkare och utvecklare inom radio- och mikrovågsteknik.Syntronic, en design- och utvecklingspartner inom tekniklösningar, har efterfrågatdesign och utveckling av en riktkopplare för laboratoriebruk.Arbetet omfattar en litteraturstudie inom området, upprättande av en kravspecifikation samt simulering och optimering av en riktkopplare. Resultatet är en designvaliderad i Ansys HFSS, med stubb-kompensering och en asymmetrisk slits på Rogers RO4350B-substrat. Riktkopplaren uppnår i simulerad miljö en direktivitet påöver 30 dB över 400–1200 MHz och en kopplingsgrad på 30 ± 4 dB.

Abstract [en]

This thesis addresses directional couplers implemented on printed circuit boards(PCBs). Planar directional couplers realized on PCBs represent a cost-effective solution that can be manufactured using industry standard processes. This is particularlyimportant as cost reduction in high-frequency circuit design is of interest to manufacturers and developers in the fields of radio and microwave engineering.Syntronic, a design and development partner specializing in engineering solutions,has requested the design and development of a directional coupler for laboratoryuse.The work includes a literature review of the field, the establishment of a set of requirements, as well as simulation and optimization of a directional coupler. The result is a design validated in Ansys HFSS, featuring stub compensation and an asymmetric slot on Rogers RO4350B substrate. In simulations, the coupler achieves a directivity exceeding 30 dB across 400–1200 MHz, with a coupling factor of 30 ± 4dB.
