Abstract [en]
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between work-related self-efficacy and the propensity to take on leadership roles in the service industry, as well as whether levels of self-efficacy differed depending on individual’s levels of extraversion. A quantitative study was conducted with 85 participants aged 20-59. Self-efficacy, leadership propensity and extraversion were measured using both validated and self-developed scales. The results showed a significant positive correlation between occupational self-efficacy and the propensity to assume leadership roles. Extraversion significantly predicted self-efficacy, with individuals high in extraversion reporting greater self-efficacy than those with low in extraversion. The findings suggest that psychological factors such as self-efficacy and extraversion may play a role in leadership intentions within the service industry.
